The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is committed to its
mission of:
- Assuring the Jefferson community, property and environment are protected against
exposures which could result in injury, illness or loss.
- Assuring compliance with established federal, state and local
regulations/guidelines for all aspects of workplace safety and health.
- Developing and implementing appropriate programs
and safeguards to ensure these institutional goals are met.
We believe in delivering high quality professional services in a timely and
supportive manner within our operational budget. We value the importance of teamwork, both
within our department and with our Physical Resources colleagues, as a vital tool for
delivering quality service to our customers.
We are proud to have received the 1995 National
Safety Council / Campus Safety Association's Award of Honor.
This is the highest recognition award presented for outstanding achievements in a campus
safety program.
