Application Requirements for Ph.D. programs:

3. Personal Statement:
- Describe your specific reasons for applying to the PhD program you chose and Thomas Jefferson University. Detail your professional objectives, including your areas of interest regarding research, study, and career.
4. Official Transcripts:
- Applicants are required to submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. This includes any study-abroad programs or transfer credit not reflected on undergraduate transcripts with full course titles and final grades.
- Transcripts need to be received by the Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope with an official signature or stamp across the sealed flap.
5. Letters of Reference- 3 Letters Required
- Letters of reference should be written by people who can comment from personal knowledge on the applicant's academic qualifications, preferably from individual faculty or pre-professional committees. If, however, an applicant has been out of school for a number of years, s/he may substitute professional references.
- We recommend that applicants use the Online Recommendation system. Alternatively, reference providers can submit a letter using the recommendation form. The letter needs to be received by the Office of Admissions in a sealed envelope with the providers signature on the sealed flap.
6. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test:
- The assigned institution code for Jefferson College of Graduate Studies is 2999.
- Scores need to be received from ETS and expired or unofficial scores will not be accepted.

8. English Language Proficiency:
- If your native language is not English, or you received your baccalaureate degree from an institution where English is not the official language of instruction, you must submit official scores from an accepted English proficiency exam such as TOEFL or IELTS.
All application materials (Official Transcripts, Test Scores, etc) should be sent directly to the Office of Admissions; they should not be sent to the program to which you are applying.

All records submitted in support of an Application for Admission become property of Jefferson College of Graduate Studies, Thomas Jefferson University.
