Course Description
The purpose of the course is to introduce students to the fundamental elements underlying all subsequent learning in microbiology. These elements will be taught within the setting of medical microbiology. Learning microbiology within that format will give students the additional benefit of becoming familiar with the terms and constructs of clinical medicine.

Faculty Information
Dr. Jerome G. Buescher received his PhD degree in Microbiology from Thomas Jefferson University. He has taught microbiology and immunology for many years to undergraduate students, graduate students, and medical students. He has a long-term interest in clinical microbiology and has held supervisory and management positions in two clinical microbiology laboratories. He has developed expertise in Team-Based Learning and incorporates this technique in some of his courses.
