3rd Annual Halloween Charity Raffle
Thursday, October 29th 2009, at the Irish Pub (1123 Walnut St)
6:00 to 10:00 PM
All proceeds benefit Camp Dreamcatcher – a small, local not-for-profit organization providing
therapeutic support of all kinds to children affected by HIV & AIDS.

Philly Spring Cleanup

25th and Locust Streets
The Graduate Student Association is looking for volunteers to help out with the 2nd Annual Philly Spring Cleanup. Last year's inaugural event was the largest single-day, citywide clean-up on record in the United States, with volunteers cleaning up more than 2.5 million pounds of garbage. Come help us clean up the area around Schuylkill River Park on Saturday, April 4th. No experience necessary.

Our Second Annual “Cards and Candy Canes” event is an opportunity to spread some holiday cheer by giving cards and candy canes to long term patients at the hospital. UC Green Tree Planting – Saturday, November 15,2008 – 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Meet at 51st Street and Osage Avenue
The Graduate Student Association is looking for volunteers to help with UC Green’s fall tree planting. For the past decade, volunteers for UC Green have helped plant thousands of trees along streets and in parks throughout Philadelphia. Come help us plant 100 trees around Malcolm X Park on November 15th. No experience necessary. Lunch will be provided by UC Green.

The 7th annual Walk for Parkinson’s will help to promote research initiatives to find the causes and cure for Parkinson's disease, educating patients, their caregivers, healthcare professionals and the general public about Parkinson’s and improving the quality of life for patients and their families. The event is sponsored by the Parkinson’s Council (National Parkinson Foundation). Last year, this event helped raise over $150,000! Please help in making this year even bigger!
Event registration is $25 dollars, and can be done online through Sudar Phani. The GSA has a limited budget to cover registration fees for participants, and will do so on a first-come,
first-served basis. The walk will start at Lloyd Hall and go to the Falls Bridge and back (or any shorter distance in between).

Help plant 88 trees in one day at the Woodland Recreation Center as a way of giving back to the city and the environment. This community revitilization is co-sponsored by UC Green, The American Cities Foundation and TreeVitalize, and will help restore the urban tree canopy, reduce storm water runoff, bring about cleaner air, and help add shade and beauty to the community center.
Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Tools and instructions will be provided
by UC Green.
