Reflecting on the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of biomedical research, the individual PhD program areas available for advanced study at JCGS have evolved towards a more integrated platform.  As you explore our PhD program portfolio, you will find that each individual PhD program includes faculty from a variety of basic science and clinical departments, and many faculty members participate across multiple PhD programs.

Key features of our PhD programs include:

• First year shared core course curriculum prior to entry into more specialized courses
• Opportunity to take additional courses beyond program requirements as electives across all PhD programs
• Flexibility and breadth of opportunity for students in each program to explore a variety of research, education and training opportunities across our various programs

To be considered for admissions for fall 2012 we recommend the following:

• Choose one of our 6 PhD programs that most closely matches your research interests
• Indicate the breadth of your research interests and future career goals in the application statement of purpose, and include an indication of possible secondary program area interests
