The individual faculty members identified as preceptors in this program are a group of established researchers with diverse backgrounds who strive to create an interactive research and educational environment. They lend their individual expertise to collaborative efforts within and outside the Department and Cancer Institute. This results in projects which generally involve multidisciplinary approaches. The research preceptors are either full-time or joint appointees in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the Kimmel Cancer Institute, and the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology. They have been carefully selected for this purpose based on: 1 ) their active research programs relating to various aspects of Pharmacology; 2) their past experience and/or current involvement in pre- and/or postdoctoral training; and 3) their involvement and interaction within the Molecular Pharmacology and Structural Biology Program.
