Undergrad: B.S. Biology; Grace College; 2007
Research Interests:
I am currently interested in electrical signaling in neurons and how these signals are regulated and modulated. Specifically I will be looking at voltage-gated potassium channels involved in nociception in the dorsal root ganglion. We hope that once we understand what ion channels propagate the electrical signal in nociceptors, we will have a better understanding of how to treat pain.
Awards/Memberships:
Lilly Endowment Community Scholar (2003-2007)
NAIA Men's Basketball All-American Scholar Athlete (2006 & 2007)
Alpha Chi Honor Society (2006- ) Biophysical Society (2009- )
Personal: Outside of science, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Kelly, and playing with our dog, Tiago. I am a born and raised Hoosier who can't seem to get enough basketball, Chicago Cubs, or Notre Dame Fighting Irish. When I find time for a break I love to pick up a good book or go hiking in the mountains.
