Research Interests:
My interests in Neuroscience research are Behavior, Learning and Cognition. At the moment, my research focuses on two brain circuits, the noradrenergic and endocannabinoid systems. By means of immunohistochemistry and biochemical techniques I'm trying to study how the two systems may interact in the nucleus accumbens and modulate animal behavior.
Selected Abstracts :
Carvalho AF, Mackie K and Van Bockstaele EJ. Topographic distribution of the cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1R) and noradrenergic terminals within the rat nucleus accumbens. Society for Neuroscience, 2008.
Personal Interests:
Besides Medicine and Research, I enjoy sports (soccer, volleyball...), music (wish I could play an instrument), reading (sometimes), photography (I know one day I'm going to take a photography course) and I really enjoy having a nice meal with family and friends (including nap afterwards).
