  Radiologic Sciences...the Jefferson Difference
   
  Earn a Bachelor of Science Degree
  • With a BS, graduates enjoy many career options in the field of radiologic sciences, including opportunities for advancement.

  • Several main categories of radiologic sciences programs feature more specific modalities within them: (Go to the Academic Programs page for more information)
    • Radiography
    • Diagnostic Medical Sonography
    • Nuclear Medicine
    • Cardiac Sonography
    • Vascular Sonography
    • Radiation Therapy
    • Medical Dosimetry
    • Computed Tomography
    • Magnetic Resonance Imaging
    • Invasive Cardiovascular Technology

  • Multicompetency students study two modalities. Alternative to a second imaging modality, students may study education, health management, or healthcare information systems in the second year.

Experience it Yourself
  • All students gain first-hand experience with the latest radiologic sciences technologies at over 100 top-notch clinical sites, including hospitals, medical centers, and private imaging centers.

  • The Jefferson Ultrasound Research and Education Institute, directed by Barry Goldberg, MD, is one of many unique clinical experiences and research opportunities

  • Specific details covering clinical placement are available in the Academic Policies and Clinical Education Handbooks, distributed by the Department of Radiologic Sciences. Students must provide their own transportation to clinical facilities, and private transportation may be necessary.

Student Success Rates
  • Average pass rate for all imaging modality programs: 85%

  • Attrition rate: less than 10%

  • Jefferson graduates have had a 95-100% career placement rate since 1995.

    Opportunities in a variety of career paths, including clinical practice, education, management or sales and research in the radiologic sciences.

Be a Part of History
  • In 1936, TJUH became one of the first institutions in the nation to offer an accredited program in radiologic technology. Since then, professionalism and quality that have been the hallmark of a Jefferson education.

  • JCHP was one of the first to offer a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences programs more than 20 years ago.
