    While completing their OT fieldwork experience, some students work with underserved populations in a variety of community settings, such as homeless shelters, senior centers and juvenile detention centers.     Jefferson's innovative curriculum, using a spiral of learning, prepares students to be flexible, innovative thinkers so that they are able to apply knowledge and skills to novel situations in both traditional and emerging arenas of practice. This spiral of learning begins with students learning very basic and concrete knowledge and continuously builds towards more in-depth thinking and skills, by revisiting introductory concepts at higher levels of complexity.

    • Prepares students for practice of today as well as the future, through innovative fieldwork experiences.

    • Opportunity to work with underserved populations through Bridging the Gaps and a variety of fieldwork experiences.
    • Opportunity to work with faculty in fieldwork settings.
