Neuromuscular Blocking Drugs

Collection of Blood Samples
  1. A 7ml blood sample should be collected in EDTA tubes.
  2. Immediately centrifuge sample. (Suggested centrifuge settings: 1700rpm for 10min. at 4ºC).
  3. Transfer plasma to a clean polypropylene tube. Make sure there is at least 2.5ml of plasma.
  4. Clearly label tube with the investigators name and/or institution, patient ID, the name of drug used and the date.
  5. Store sample at –80ºC.
Shipping Instructions
  1. Samples must be shipped with dry ice by an overnight carrier.
  2. Place samples in plastic bags, then on dry ice.
  3. Include a list of all samples shipped.
  4. Call in advance to speak with lab personnel to inform them of samples being sent. DO NOT LEAVE VOICE MAIL OR EMAIL.
  5. Ship to:
