The goal of the Artificial Pancreas Center (APC) at Jefferson is to improve diabetes management through the development and testing of glucose sensing technologies and insulin delivery systems to achieve closed-loop insulin delivery.

Another important goal of the program is to improve the perioperative management of diabetic medical and surgical patients through on-line glucose testing and algorithm development for closed-loop insulin administration.
