Commencement 2012 Overview
for the Jefferson School of Pharmacy
Dear Members of the Graduating Class of 2012
Congratulations on the achievement of your degree from Thomas Jefferson University!
The Commencement Exercises are scheduled for Monday 14, 2012 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center located at 1101 Arch Street - just mere blocks from campus. To find out more information about this venue, please visit the Pennsylvania Convention Center Web site. The ceremony will consist of the conferral of all degrees in the Jefferson School of Pharmacy, and will last approximately until 12:00 p.m.
We ask that graduates report to the Pennsylvania Convention Center no later than 7:45 a.m. on the morning of Commencement, so that they may participate in an actual dress rehearsal of the Commencement Ceremony. Graduates will first check into their program-specific robing rooms for correct marching order, help with robing, and name announcement verifications. Light refreshments will also be provided for the graduates in each of the robing rooms. Please enter the Pennsylvania Convention Center from the Arch street entrance located between Broad Street and 13th Street.
Guests are advised to enter the Pennsylvania Convention Center from the 11th and Market Street entrance and wait in the prefunction area below Ballroom AB. Guests will not be seated in the Ballroom until 9:00 a.m. Family and friends will line up at the bottom of the escalators to hand their tickets to the ushers who will hand them a commencement booklet and assist them in identifying seating. There are accommodations at the Pennsylvania Convention Center for special seating or Handicapped Accessible Requests. Requests are due into the University Office of the Registrar by March 1st and provisions are limited. If your circumstances have changed after the March 1st deadline and you now need to request special seating please send an email immediately to graduation@jefferson.edu. Please note, neither Thomas Jefferson University nor the Convention Center can provide, loan or rent wheelchairs for guests with special needs. Medical supply companies in the area can assist with acquiring one if needed.
Important Ticket Information
All students who will be attending the 2012 Commencement ceremony will receive four tickets for their guests. Information about ordering your regalia online is currently available through Banner Web if you indicated that you will be attending the Commencement ceremony or that you are undecided at this time. Information regarding regalia and ticket distribution is posted on the Countdown to Commencement. (Please check back for updates) Please be advised that any remaining outstanding obligations with the University (Exit Interview, tuition balance, etc.) must be satisfied before any tickets or regalia can be released.
If you are not able to pick up these items in-person, you may authorize another individual to do so for you. The person picking up your tickets must have your written/signed permission and provide a photocopy of your Jefferson ID card to obtain tickets on your behalf.
