Program participants have the opportunity to explore careers in medicine, the health professions, and biomedical science. During the program, they will interact with Jefferson physicians, faculty and medical school representatives. In addition, they will hear presentations on career opportunities and student life from medical, graduate science, and health professions students. These sessions are designed to encourage students to prepare themselves adequately for future health care careers. Topics covered include:
- Medical ethics
- Patient diagnosis
- Medical, graduate and health professions school admissions requirements
- Financial aid and scholarship opportunities
- Careers in nursing, pharmacy, occupational therapyand allied health technologies
- Careers in medicine (with exposure to Pediatrics, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Family Medicine, and Internal Medicine)
Students are also given hands-on experiences through the use of our Anatomy Lab and Clinical Skills Center. They will also tour the hospital and TJU campus.
