Welcome to the Jefferson Community!

In order to prepare you for your first semester as a student, all of us at Thomas Jefferson University have prepared the Destination Jefferson program (scroll down for the Weekly Update).

Destination Jefferson is your orientation process to get you acquainted with University resources, staff, fellow students, and more. It will also be where you can keep track of your responsibilities leading up to life as an enrolled student.

Stay tuned to your email for weekly Destination Jefferson updates every Friday, and check back to this site often to see weekly additions, stay on top of due dates, and learn all you need in order to thrive at Jefferson.

Destination Jefferson Weekly Updates

15 weeks until the start of the semester

Destination Jefferson is your new student orientation to the East Falls Campus. Over 15 weeks you will get all the information you need and meet the campus resources that will help you start successfully in August.

14 weeks until the start of the semester

Get to know Orientation Leaders, Jefferson upperclassman who are specially trained to help guide and mentor you through the Destination Jefferson experience.

13 weeks until the start of the semester

Meet some of our favorite people—the wonderful crew of the Academic Success Center. This group is where you can go for all kinds of support—including writing, math and science tutoring, peer and professional support for subject content, and help learning time management and study skills. They also serve as the first-year advising resource.

Academic Success Center Presentation (Approx. 15 mins.):

12 to 11 weeks until the start of the semester

Ram+Family=Ramily. Get to know fellow students in a small group environment. Each group is led by a pair of Orientation Leaders and a professional staff member of the Office of Student Engagement. Your group will meet virtually, once in June and once in July. There will be 20+ meetings to choose from, pick the day and time that works best for your schedule. You only need to attend one. 10 weeks until the start of the semester

Are you planning to live on campus or commute? Learn more about the unique opportunities for each experience, and meet your on-campus and commuter crew.

  • Register for Jefferson Live 2021
  • Health forms (PDF) must be submitted by mail or fax by July 16, 2021
  • Students coming to campus in the fall must submit COVID-19 vaccination documentation no later than August 1, 2021. Review the vaccination policy here.
  • Check in on any additional requirements on the MyJefferson portal.

Commuter Life Presentation (Approx. 12 mins.):

9 to 8 weeks until the start of the semester

Over these two weeks, you have the opportunity to get to know other new and current students like yourself. We are hosting a variety of virtual group meetups where you can meet other students who wish to participate in interest, cultural and affinity groups. You can attend as many sessions as you like!

7 weeks until the start of the semester

This week you will hear from members of our Student Billing and Financial Aid teams, and learn what to expect, how to pay bills, and important deadlines throughout the year.

Financial Aid 101 (Approx. 25 mins.):

6 weeks until the start of the semester

This week, you will hear from members of our Health and Counseling Services and Fitness and Recreation to get the scoop on all things wellness. Hear about the services Jefferson offers to keep you feeling your best, physically and mentally, throughout your university experience. You will also have your second Ramily meeting this week: register here.

5 weeks until the start of the semester

Get to know classmates in your major. Orientation Leaders and First-Year Seminar Peer Mentors will help you connect with your group. And remember: it is never too early to build your professional network. The people in this group are your future industry peers—consider starting a LinkedIn page and adding one another.

4 weeks until the start of the semester

Jefferson Live is a one-day in person program on campus. There will be five sessions available. Meet new first-year and transfer students as your Orientation Leaders show you around campus and Philadelphia. This is also a great opportunity to visit the campus resources you learned about this summer such as Academic Success to get any questions answered about your schedule. 

3 weeks until the start of the semester

First-year students will learn about First-Year Seminar and Transfer students will have dedicated transfer sessions. All new students will learn more about the Creativity Core Curriculum and its creativity-intensive options, creative making workshops, and a revised capstone centered around the art of lifelong happiness.

1 week until the start of the semester

Welcome Week is one of the most exciting times of your college career. This is your official start to college. Meet new friends, make memories, and celebrate the summertime before classes start next week.
