MD/MBA Program
Fellowships
- The GlaxoSmithKline Health Economics Fellowship
- Janssen Pharmaceutica Fellowship
- Fellows spend one year working in the Department of
Health Policy learning the basics of outcomes research
and taking classes such as Health Care Quality and Outcomes
(GC 515) and Economic Analysis of Healthcare Interventions
(GC 650) followed by one year working at the sponsoring

Course Offerings
- Health Care Quality and Outcomes (GC 515)
- A graduate level, 15-week course offered through the
College of Graduate Studies, Thomas Jefferson University
in conjunction with the Health Policy Department of the
University of the Sciences in Philadelphia taught by
Neil Goldfarb. The objective of the course is to provide
students with an understanding of issues in defining
and measuring quality of care in a variety of health
care settings, and with the skills to measure quality
and analyze outcomes.
- Economic Analysis of Healthcare Interventions (GC 650)
- A course aimed to provide students with an understanding
of the design, conduct, and rationale for economic evaluations
of pharmaceutical products and other health care technologies
taught by Laura Pizzi.
- Health Services Research (PH 506)
- Taught by Jennifer Lofland, this course gives students
an introduction to the components necessary to conduct
health services research and fulfills a core course of
the Masters Program in Public Health.

MD/MBA Program
- A Jefferson Medical College - Widener University joint
five-year program conferring the MD and MBA degrees. The
Department of Health Policy hosted the 2004 2nd National
