The following positions are currently available in the Department of Health Policy:
Director, Quality and Safety Programs – we are seeking a Director to lead the establishment of the Quality and Safety Masters Program and to direct the Department’s growing research agenda in quality measurement and improvement. This is a full-time faculty position. The Director will oversee development and implementation of the quality and safety curriculum, including didactic and experiential learning opportunities, and will lead program development, recruitment, and administration. In addition, the Director will oversee the Department’s consultative work on ambulatory quality measurement and improvement for the Jefferson University Physicians faculty practice plan. The ideal candidate is doctorally-prepared and has experience applying quality measurement and improvement principles in a clinical setting.
Faculty Members, Doris N. Grandon Center for Health Economics and Outcomes Research – the Department seeks to expand its active research agenda in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), now housed in the newly-renovated Doris N. Grandon Center. Full-time faculty positions are available for doctorally-prepared individuals with HEOR research experience in industry, consulting, and academic positions. Individuals will be expected to support the Department’s HEOR consulting practice, to develop grant proposals to support heir own HEOR interests, and teach courses. Examples of areas of HEOR expertise of particular interest at this time include: development of pharmacoeconomic models, productivity measurement, and retrospective analysis of large claims and other research databases.
Other Research Faculty Members – additional positions are available for doctorally-prepared individuals with significant research experience to join the Department’s faculty. Faculty members are expected to develop research grant proposals as lead investigators, contribute to the development of collaborative grant proposals and consulting projects, disseminate research findings through publication and meeting presentations, and teach courses in the new school’s masters and doctoral programs. Examples of areas of expertise that are of particular interest as the Department expands are: epidemiology and biostatistics, addressing disparities in health care, addressing global population health needs, chronic illness and aging, and impact of climate change on health.
Research Project Manager – As the Department’s research portfolio continues to expand, we increasingly are in need of capable, energetic project managers. These positions involve contributing to proposals, developing and managing data collection and management processes, coordinating team activities, communicating with clients and sponsors, and contributing to manuscripts and presentations. Preference is given to masters-prepared individuals with prior experience managing healthcare projects.
