John
C. Kairys, MD, graduated from Jefferson Medical College and completed his
residency in general surgery at Jefferson University Hospital. He has been
with Jefferson for nearly 15 years, during which time he served as Program
Director of the Department of Surgery. He has also maintained an active clinical
practice while heavily
involved in graduate medical education. Recognized for his contributions
to medical education, Dr. Kairys received the Francis E. Rosato Teaching
Award and the Dean's Citation for Significant Contributions to Education. Dr.
Kairys also serves as co-chairman of the hospital's Clinical Infomatics Committee.
