Alternative Health Care:

As an alternate to BC/BS you may elect to enroll for health coverage through any of several HMO's available to you through TJU, provided without cost to you.

Blanket Travel and Accident Insurance:

Effective upon your date of hire, TJU provides coverage when you are away from Jefferson on University business.

Long-Term Disability:

Effective following one year of service.

Vision Care:

Effective upon your date of hire, coverage varies depending on choice of health plan.

Dental Care:

Eligible following one year of service.
Individual Annuity Program: Available for purchase.

Prescription Drugs:

Effective on date of hire, coverage varies depending on choice of health plan.

Malpractice Insurance:

Covered by Thomas Jefferson University for University business, i.e., for residency-related medical practice at TJUH and affiliated hospitals.

Meals:

Free dinner and breakfast provided via meal tickets for on-call nights.

Uniforms:

Coats are provided for each house officer as needed, and laundered without charge.

Recreational Facilities:

The University's recreational complex complete with
basketball court, swimming pool, sauna, game rooms, squash and paddleball, music rooms, study, and social facilities is available to each house officer for a reasonable fee. Family memberships are also available.
