Farber Institute for Neurosciences
Welcome to the Farber Institute for Neurosciences at Thomas Jefferson University. The Farber Institute was established with a generous gift from Vickie and Jack Farber (pictured to the right) of the Farber Family Foundation, Inc. They have witnessed the devastation of neurological disease in their own family and have contributed one of the largest gifts in Jefferson history to support research that helps find the cures.
Farber Institute faculty are drawn from more than a dozen departments throughout the University, including the Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurological Surgery and the recently-established Department of Neuroscience. They carry out basic, translational and clinical research designed to understand fundamental mechanisms of the normal and diseased brain, and translate that understanding into treatments for neurodegenerative and other devastating disorders.
The Farber Institute also oversees the Graduate Program in Neuroscience.
