Expertise and Research Interests

The long-term objective of my laboratory is to elucidate the molecular correlates of the biophysical properties of voltage-dependent ion channels, using a combination of patch recording, molecular biology, cysteine scanning mutagenesis, and immobilization of the moving parts of the channels (voltage sensors and gates) by photocross-linking. We use both sodium and potassium channels in these studies.
