Apply for Financial Aid Online
WELCOME TO THOMAS JEFFERSON UNIVERSITY'S COLLEGE OF GRADUATE
STUDIES FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION WEBSITE. CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND NEWLY ACCEPTED STUDENTS ONLY
MAY USE THIS PROCESS TO APPLY FOR FINANCIAL
AID.
Please read these instructions and click Proceed at the end to continue with your financial aid application.
Students may complete TJU's College of Graduate Studies financial aid application by proceeding with the steps outlined below. In completing this process, students are reminded of the following:
- The submission of on-line application material certifies that the information is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. If, after completing a segment of the application process, you find that the information has changed, you will need to submit corrections directly to the University Office of Student Financial Aid (G-1 College).
- We recommend that you print a copy of the information you submitted for your records.
- Refer to the descriptions below to ensure that you complete and submit all of the documents required for your 2008-2009 Financial Aid application.
WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED?
If you are INDEPENDENT, and had total financial resources of less than $7,500 during the 2007 calendar year, then you must submit the following items:
- 2008-2009 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), including parents information. You may complete the FAFSA on-line by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov or obtain a paper copy of the FAFSA by contacting the University Office of Student Financial Aid;
- 2008-2009 CHP/CGS Institutional Financial Aid Application (included on this website);
- Submit a signed copy of YOUR (and if applicable YOUR SPOUSE'S) 2007 Federal Income Tax Return. If you did not and will not file a 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, then you must complete the Non-filing Statement (included on this website);
- Submit a signed copy of YOUR PARENTS' 2007 Federal Income Tax Return. If your parents did not and will not file a 2007 Federal Income Tax Return, then they must complete the Non-filing Statement included on this website;
- Verification Worksheet, Both Student
and Parents Sections (included on this
website);
- Federal Stafford Loan Institutional Form (included on this website);
- Educational
Plan - Must be completed by all
Certificate students and all Master's
students enrolled in the following
programs: Public Health, Microbiology,
Pharmacology, Cell & Developmental Biology and Biomedical Sciences
(included on this website).

on this website).
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
In addition to the application requirements outlined above, you may need to submit supplemental documents if you are:
- Applying for Federal Work Study, then you must complete the Federal Work Study Application (included on this website);
- A First Year Student (2008-2009 will
be the first academic year in which you
are enrolled at Thomas Jefferson University),
then you must complete a Federal
Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN)
using one of TJU's preferred lenders.
Students should contact the University
Office of Student Financial Aid to obtain
the required MPN or access the electronic
MPN located on the main menu of the Financial
Aid Office Web site;
- A First Year Student (2008-2009 will be the
first academic year in which you are enrolled
at Thomas Jefferson University), then you must
complete an Entrance Interview. Students should
refer to the Financial Aid Office Web site
(www.jefferson.edu/financialaid) after February
1 for information regarding this online process.
