Apply for Financial Aid Online
WELCOME TO JEFFERSON MEDICAL COLLEGE'S
FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION WEB SITE. THESE INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE FOLLOWED BY ALL JMC STUDENTS. HOWEVER, ONLY CURRENTLY ENROLLED AND NEWLY ACCEPTED STUDENTS MAY COMPLETE THE FINANCIAL AID APPLICATION ONLINE.
Please read these instructions and click "PROCEED" at the end to continue
with your financial aid application.
Students may complete Jefferson Medical College's financial aid application
process by proceeding with the steps outlined below. In completing this process,
students are reminded of the following:
- The submission of on-line application material certifies that the information
is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge. If, after completing a
segment of the application process, you find that the information has changed,
you will need to submit corrections directly to the University Office of Student
Financial Aid (G-1 College).
- We recommend that you print a copy of the information you submitted for
your records.
- Refer to the descriptions below to ensure that you complete and submit
all of the documents required for your 2009-2010 Financial Aid application.
WHAT DOCUMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED?
If you are applying for Institutional
Aid, in addition to applying for
Federal Stafford, Federal Grad Plus and/or Alternative
Loan Funding, then you must submit the following items:
- 2009-2010 Free Application
for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), including parents information.
You may complete the FAFSA on-line by going to www.fafsa.ed.gov
(School Code 010021);
- 2009-2010 Jefferson Institutional
Financial Aid Application (included on this Web site);
- Submit a signed copy of YOUR (and if applicable YOUR SPOUSE'S) 2008 Federal
Income Tax Return. If you did not and will not file a 2008 Federal
Income Tax Return, then you must complete the Non-filing Statement
included on this Web site;
- A signed copy of YOUR PARENTS' 2008 Federal Income Tax Return. If your parents
did not and will not file a 2008 Federal Income Tax Return, then they must
complete the Non-filing Statement included on this Web site;
- Verification Worksheet, Both Student and Parents Sections (included in this
Web site);
- Federal Stafford Loan Institutional Form (included on this Web site).
If you are NOT applying for Institutional
Aid, and are choosing to apply for only
Federal Stafford, and/or Alternative
Loan Funding then you must submit the following items*:
- 2009-2010 Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You may complete the FAFSA on-line by
going to www.fafsa.ed.gov
(School Code 010021);
- 2009-2010 Jefferson Institutional
Financial Aid Application (included in this Web site);
- A signed copy of YOUR (and if applicable, YOUR SPOUSE'S) 2008 Federal Income Tax
Return. If you did not and will not file a 2008 Federal Income Tax Return,
then you must complete the Non-filing Statement (included on this Web site);
- (included

- Not Applying for Institutional Aid Confirmation (included on this Web site)
- Verification Worksheet, Student Section Only (included on this Web site);
- Federal Stafford Loan Institutional Form (included on this Web site).
*PLEASE NOTE: The requirements outlined here also apply to students who are
applying for Federal Stafford, Federal Grad PLUS, and/or Alternative Loan funds in addition to National
Health Service Corps and Armed Forces Health Professions Scholarship funding.
ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS
In addition to the application requirements outlined above, you may need to
submit supplemental documents if you are:
- Applying for Federal Work
Study, then you must complete the Federal Work Study Application (included
on this Web site);
- A First Year Student (2009-2010 will be the first academic year in which
you are enrolled at Jefferson Medical College), then you must complete a
Federal Stafford Master Promissory Note (MPN). Students should access
the electronic MPN information page located on the main menu of the Financial Aid Office
Web site;
- A First Year Student (2009-2010 will be the first academic year in which
you are enrolled at Jefferson Medical College), then you must complete an
Entrance Interview. Students should refer to the Financial Aid Office Web
site (www.jefferson.edu/financialaid) after February 15 for information regarding
this online process.
