Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center

The Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Center at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia was started in early 1996 under the direction of Franz Goldstein, MD , Professor of Medicine, and Anthony J. DiMarino, Jr., MD, William Rorer, Professor of Medicine and head of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and the Digestive Disease Institute. The IBD Center is now under the capable leadership of Patricia Kozuch, MD. This interdisciplinary Center is accepting patients with IBD, i.e. Crohn's disease and ulcerative or collagenous colitis. Patients can be seen and examined by an expert gastroenterologist alone, or in more complex situations may be seen by teams of experts. Highly qualified surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, geneticists and others have joined the Center to participate in its functions. Patients can be seen for single consultations, or for ongoing care and up-to-date diagnostic procedures. Clinical research focuses on new therapies of IBD. The Center is involved in testing new biologic agents designed to reduce or abolish the inflammatory reactions in IBD.

For inquiries and appointments, call 215-955-1700 or 215-955-8900 and indicate your interest in the IBD Center. Both physician referrals and direct patient referrals are welcome. E-mail inquiries can be directed to Dr. Kozuch at Patricia.Kozuch@jefferson.edu.
