Clinical Trials
MIGRAINE QUESTIONNAIRE RESEARCH STUDY
The Jefferson Headache Center is currently seeking participants between the ages of 12 and 30 to participate in a Questionnaire Research Study.
Participants should experience between 1 and 6 migraine headaches per month and be willing to complete 2 questionnaires—one in the absence of a headache and one during a headache.
Reimbursement for time and expenses will be provided.

Preventive Headache Studies
Preventive trials are clinical trials that test a medication for its ability to prevent or decrease the frequency, duration, and disability of migraines.
Preventive headache studies are currently being conducted at the Jefferson Headache Center . Men and women ages 18 to 65 who experience frequent migraine headaches may be able to participate in a clinical research study. The study is designed to examine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug in the prevention of migraine headaches. Physical and neurologic examinations, as well as study drug, will be provided at no cost to qualified participants. Compensation for travel and related expenses will be provided.
Acute Headache Studies
Acute trials are clinical trials that test a medication for its ability to relieve head pain at the onset of a migraine.
Acute headache studies are currently being conducted at the Jefferson Headache Center . Men and women ages 18 to 65 who experience migraine headaches may be able to participate in a clinical research study. The study is designed to examine the safety and effectiveness of an investigational drug in the relief of eligible migraine attacks. Physical and neurologic examinations, as well as study drug, will be provided at no cost to qualified participants. Compensation for travel and related expenses will be provided.
Menstrual Migraine Studies
Menstrual Migraine is formally defined as an attack occurring 2 days before and up to 4 days after the onset of the menstrual period. It is estimated that menstrual migraine occurs in approximately 60% of women. The Jefferson Headache Center conducts menstrual migraine studies for women who experience regular menses and headaches associated with their menses. Cluster Headache Studies
A severe headache that affects predominantly men. Attacks are briefer and more frequent than migraine, are strictly one-sided, and usually occur in clusters that last for weeks. For more information on cluster headache visit the Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches (O.U.C.H.), a non-profit organization formed to assist cluster headache sufferers and their families.
Cluster headache research is currently being conducted at the Jefferson Headache Center . We have a number of trials open for enrollment at any one time. If you are a cluster headache sufferer of any race and gender between the ages of 18 and 65, either in or out of headache cycle, you may be a candidate for one of our studies.
