Thomas Jefferson University is fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
The combined BS/MSOT program and the Entry-level Master’s degree programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE). Students who successfully complete both academic and fieldwork requirements are eligible to take the Certification Examination of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Students become registered Occupational Therapists (OTR) once they have passed the NBCOT Examination. Students are also eligible to apply for state licensure examinations.
Accreditation standards are national and mandate successful completion of a minimum of six months of fieldwork experience in assigned, predetermined clinical sites. Training takes place under the direction of qualified clinical supervisors. Level II fieldwork must be successfully completed within one year following completion of pre-Level II Fieldwork academic coursework.
