This certificate is designed to provide occupational therapists who have a strong interest in teaching with basic knowledge and skills for teaching in occupational therapy (OT) curricula. The curriculum focuses on the application of research and best practices in education to OT curricula within the backdrop of established pedagogic principles in education based on contemporary learning theories. The certificate will serve as a foundation for the development of further knowledge and skill necessary to enact educator roles as lecturers, laboratory instructors, and course faculty in OT curricula.

Course Descriptions

Program Content

This program will enable you to:

  • Use research evidence and best practices as the basis for development, implementation, and evaluation of coursework in  occupational therapy education
  • Demonstrate expertise in the ability to co-construct knowledge and evidence between classroom and clinical setting
  • Develop syllabi for specific courses in occupational therapy, using a variety of teaching strategies,  based on best practices and principles of curriculum development
  • Evaluate student outcomes using best practices, current research, and principles of test construction and implementation

You will then be registered for the course and notified by the Tuition Office and the Department of Occupational Therapy
