Enhanced Services for Defined Benefit
Pension Plan Participants

Beginning April 2, 2012, improved consolidated plan administration services will be provided by Aon Hewitt, a leader in the field of benefits administration to Participants in Thomas Jefferson University Employees’ Pension Plan and Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. Employees’ Pension Plan (including TJUH-Methodist Hospital Division).

This change will provide you with the added convenience of an integrated Web site at http://www.yourbenefitresources.com/jeffersonretirement and a team of customer service representatives at 1-855-354-6942 to help you better manage your benefits. The Your Pension Resource™ Web site, managed by Aon Hewitt, will be your one-stop shop for information about your pension benefits.

Letters are being mailed to participant homes with detailed information about these service enhancements.

Once the transition period begins in early April

Beginning April 2, 2012, you can access the Your Pension Resources™ Web site from any computer with Internet access. Just visit http://www.yourbenefitresources.com/jeffersonretirement to get started. If you are accessing the site for the first time, click “Register as a New User”. You'll be prompted to set up your user profile by entering identifying information in order to access the site. Once you're registered and have a User ID and Password, the next time you visit the Your Pension Resources™ Web site, you'll simply enter them to sign in. The Web site is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (except for periodic system maintenance).

Services will include projecting pension benefits using various assumptions, accessing trained retirement specialists for assistance, and commencing pension benefits.

If you need help using the Web site or have questions after the transition, call Your Pension Resources™ at 1-855-354-6942 to speak with a customer service representative. Representatives will be available between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Eastern time, Monday through Friday.

  • Offering retirement planning education through Vanguard and TIAA-CREF, including counseling sessions with a representative, on-line education and informational brochures
  • Making saving easy and convenient through payroll deductions

Retirement planning is an important task that many people ignore. Pay yourself first and use Jefferson’s plans to build funds for your retirement income. The key is to start early and be consistent, no matter how much you can contribute now. It is important to understand that our plans, like most employer sponsored plans, rely on three sources for retirement income:

  1. Company sponsored retirement plans
  2. Social Security
  3. Personal savings
