Master of Public Health Program (MPH)

The Master of Public Health (MPH) program provides graduate training and research opportunities in the primary domains of public health: biostatistics, epidemiology, health policy and management, social and behavioral sciences, and environmental health sciences. The program also offers a range of other required and elective courses to add breadth and depth to the students’ exposure to public health issues. It also encourages faculty and student community service and provides graduates, faculty and practitioners with continuing education opportunities for further academic development, important in a constantly developing field.

Graduates will be able to pursue leadership careers in governmental agencies, public health departments and centers, health care and health insurance organizations, community-based health organizations, the pharmaceutical industry, health consulting activities, and international programs.

The program is designed for both full-time and part-time students as courses are primarily offered in late afternoons and evenings. Students must earn a minimum of 42 credit hours (course work, a clerkship, and a capstone research project). Full-time students may be able to complete the program in one year plus completion of their capstone project. Part-time students can complete the program in two to four years.
