The individual faculty members identified as preceptors in this program are a group of established researchers with diverse backgrounds who strive to create an interactive research and educational environment. They lend their individual expertise to collaborative efforts within and outside the Department and Cancer Institute. This results in projects which generally involve multidisciplinary approaches. The research preceptors are primarily full-time or joint appointees in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and the Kimmel Cancer Center. They have been carefully selected for this purpose based on: 1 ) their active research programs relating to various aspects of genetics; 2) their past experience and/or current involvement in pre- and/or postdoctoral training; and 3) their involvement and interaction within the Genetics Graduate Program.
