FOCUS
Voltage-gated potassium channels; molecular mechanisms underlying function, regulation and interactions with drugs.
INTEREST
The research in my laboratory focuses on voltage-gated potassium channels expressed in brain and heart. We investigate the molecular mechanisms governing the function and regulation of these ion channels. These studies can impact our understanding of neuronal plasticity, epilepsy, nociception, autism, arrhythmias, anesthesia and alcohol intoxication. Furthermore, they may unveil potential drug-targets. The research platform of our work is based on a modern multidisciplinary approach, which applies electrophysiology, molecular genetics, biochemistry, pharmacology and mathematical modeling.
