RESEARCH INTERESTS:
The focus of my current laboratory is on integrin signaling and growth factor receptor signaling. As a model we use the unique avian ocular lens which at a single stage during development, has lens cells in different stages of differentiation and is unique for studying vital cell signaling pathways. My thesis project is based on the “role of a6 integrin in pathways that regulate lens cell differentiation during lens development”. In future I want to investigate survival signaling pathways in Neural systems that might be crucial during development and disease.
