Mission Statement for the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs
The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs at Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) officially opened on October 27, 2003 with the placement of Lisa Kozlowski, Ph.D., as the Assistant Dean for Postdoctoral Affairs and Recruitment. The Board of Trustees at Thomas Jefferson identified the Jefferson College of Graduate Studies as the central location for this office. The Office, working with the academic departments, will determine human resource needs and training opportunities for postdoctoral fellows. These will include, but are not limited to, working with the TJU human resources department to construct a standardized letter of appointment, implementing salary and benefits guidelines, creating a database of postdoctoral fellows, establishing a web-based recruiting resource to identify postdoctoral positions available at TJU, coordinating career and professional development workshops, and being a central resource for TJU postdoctoral fellows as well as departmental administrators and PIs.
