Thomas Jefferson University and Immaculata University

3+3 BS/DPT Transfer Agreement

Students can earn both the Bachelor of Science (BS) and Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degrees in six years after graduation from high school.

Apply for admission to the 3+3 BS/DPT program using the regular Immaculata undergraduate application. If admitted, you will spend the first three years at Immaculata and then proceed to Jefferson for the final three years of Physical Therapy coursework.  Earn your bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Immaculata after successful completion of the first year at Jefferson School of Health Professions. Jefferson awards a doctor of physical therapy degree after successful completion of the third year at JSHP.

Curriculum Requirements

Immaculata University

High school students:
- SAT total score of 1650 or higher
- Cumulative high school GPA of 3.2 or higher
-Interview

Current Immaculata students:

- Total earned credit hours: 30 or fewer
- Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher
- A grade of C or better in all prerequisite courses for the program at Jefferson
- Interview

High school students:
- Submit a completed Immaculata undergraduate admissions application by December 15
- Official high school transcripts
- Official SAT I test scores
- Essay
- Activities resume
-Volunteer/observation hours (PT applicants should have 25 hours completed at the time of application.  An additional 50 hours in 2 settings will be required prior to matriculation to Jefferson.)
- Application fee

Current Immaculata students:
- Submit a Jefferson admissions application with an endorsement/letter of recommendation from a designated Immaculata representative
- Interview

Follow a specific 3-year track at Immaculata that includes the prerequisite coursework needed to transfer into the Jefferson program.

Credits earned toward the first year at Jefferson will be counted toward the completion of a BS in Exercise Science from Immaculata University.

In order to transfer into the Jefferson program, you must:
- complete the articulated Immaculata curriculum
- have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
- earn at least a C in all prerequisite coursework
