Bioscience Technologies
BS ‘96, MS ‘05

Camden County and Burlington County Community Colleges
Adjunct Professor of Biology

I completed my Master’s part-time as I worked as a technician on
the university’s Tae Sachs prevention program.  I eventually became a supervisor.

Through my clinical rotation at St. Christopher’s Hospital, I was given a job on the spot.  I started working within three months of graduation.  Now, even when I’m not hiring, I routinely recommend Jefferson students who come through the rotation to other labs that are hiring.

Jefferson faculty are accessible and very approachable.  Professors encouraged us to address them by their first names, because they saw us as future colleagues, not just as students.

Jefferson helps students find valuable, worthwhile internships.  Completing multiple internships while at Jefferson gave me a smattering of different aspects of the bioscience technologies field.  My clinical rotation experience allowed me to see the day-to-day operations of a lab.  It was valuable to have a trial run in different careers within the field.

Jefferson faculty are out in the trenches, doing work in their respective fields.  As working professionals, they draw upon their professional experience in the classroom.  They practice what they teach, which is not always the case with faculty at other health care universities.
