Program Requirements

Admission Requirements (see also JSHP Admissions page)

  • Bachelor's degree in OT plus Masters in OT or another field or
  • Bachelor's degree in OT
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement of goals for the OTD (may be emailed or included in the Essay section of the online application)
  • Copy of state license and/or NBCOT certification

Online application recommended.

Credit for OTD courses taken as non-matriculated student

  • All credits earned for OTD courses taken at Jefferson as a non-matriculated student are applied toward the OTD degree upon admission to the program.

Transfer of Credit

  • Students may transfer up to 15 credits of graduate-level work from an accredited institution. Students must provide course description and syllabus for courses for which transfer is requested; these are reviewed by Program Director for approval.

Credit for Experience

  • Students may earn credit for experience in the areas of advanced practice, leadership, or innovative programming. Check with Program Director Dr. Susan Toth-Cohen for more information.

Residency Requirements

  • Students complete an 80 hour Fellowship that typically is conducted in the student's local geographic area.
