Through its partnership with the Council for Relationships, Jefferson offers a strong advantage.

  • are introduced to areas of specialty practice, including family violence, medical family therapy and families in transition
  • can take advanced classes in sex therapy in the optional sex therapy track
  • have practicum placements at multiple CFR locations and sites throughout the Jefferson Health System, with opportunities in many specialized areas
  • participate in ongoing clinical research in couple and family therapy
  • prepare for real world practice through collaboration with students and residents from other health professions in clinical seminars and medical rounds
  • experience live and videotaped supervision, to maximize the development of therapeutic skills
  • are supervised by the largest number of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) Approved Supervisors in the tri-state area.
