CARAH and Center in the Park Recognized for Outstanding, Innovative Research
Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, director of the Jefferson Center for Applied Research on Aging and Health (CARAH) and her team at Thomas Jefferson University, and Center in the Park, a senior center with which CARAH collaborates, will receive an award from the National Institute of Senior Centers for a research project "Harvest Health: Translation of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program for Older African Americans in a Senior Setting."
The award, which recognizes outstanding, innovative research in the senior center field, will be presented in March 2010 at the National Council on Aging and American Society on Aging conference in Chicago. It includes a cash award of $1000 for the researcher and an $500 for the senior center.
