CARAH, Director Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, Receive Awards

Jefferson Center for Applied Research on Aging and Health (CARAH) and Center in the Park, a senior center in Germantown, received an award from the National Institute of Senior Centers for a research article, “Harvest Health: Translation of the Chronic Disease Self-Management Program for Older African Americans in a Senior Setting,” which ran in The Gerontologist: Practice Concepts. CARAH director Laura N. Gitlin, PhD, received the award at the American Society on Aging/National Council on Aging annual meetings March 16, 2010.

Gitlin herself will be honored in May at the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania’s Champions for Impact Awards celebration for her outstanding work in healthy aging.
