The Jefferson School of Pharmacy will continue to accept applications for the Fall 2008 enrollment through PharmCAS until Monday, March 3, 2008. JSP is using a rolling admissions process and will continue to invite prospective students for interviews until the class is filled. Although some students have received acceptances many other applications are still under very serious consideration and interviews are still ongoing. We sincerely appreciate your interest in the Jefferson School of Pharmacy and hope that you will contact us directly if you have any further questions.

Admissions Requirements
Jefferson's Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree program will begin in fall 2008.  Prospective students may now begin applying for the PharmD program.  Applicants for the PharmD program at the Jefferson School of Pharmacy must complete at least two years of pre-pharmacy coursework at an accredited institution.

There are two steps to apply.

  1. Apply to PharmCAS and submit required materials.
    • Complete an online application for admission through PharmCAS at www.pharmcas.org
    • Send PCAT scores to PharmCAS using code 104
    • Deadline: March 3, 2008

  2. Apply to Jefferson at http://www.jefferson.edu/jchp/admissions/online_pharmacy.cfm
    • Deadline: March 3, 2008.

  3. Find more information about Open Houses and On-Campus Events at http://www.jefferson.edu/jchp/admissions/events.cfm

Prerequisites

We require 4 semesters (8 quarters) of college coursework be completed prior to matriculation. All science and math courses must be completed within 5 years of admission to Jefferson.  Applicants must successfully complete ALL course prerequisites by the end of the summer 2008 term.  All science courses must include both lecture and lab.

Calculus I 3 sem. hrs.    or 5 qtr. hrs.
Organic Chemistry I 4 sem. hrs.    or 6 qtr. hrs.
Organic Chemistry II 4 sem. hrs.    or 6 qtr. hrs.
Physics I 4 sem. hrs.    or 6 qtr. hrs.
Physics II 4 sem. hrs.    or 6 qtr. hrs.
Microbiology 4 sem. hrs.    or 6 qtr. hrs.
English Composition 3 sem. hrs.    or 5 qtr. hrs.
Social Sciences* 9 sem. hrs.    or 15 qtr. hrs.
