Jefferson Information Technologies
Student Wireless Change

Over a year ago, Jeff IT began the migration of its wireless networking security protocol from the old WPA-Enterprise (swopenwpa) technology to the current WPA2-Enterprise (wireless100) encryption schemes.

WPA-Enterprise (swopenwpa) will be fully retired by the start of the Fall Semester. If you have not yet migrated to WPA2-Enterprise (wireless100), you will not be able to access Jefferson Wi-Fi.

QuickLinksFor information on migrating to wireless100, either click the links herein, else visit the Jeff IT site at http://www.jefferson.edu/jeffit/ to access the quicklinks on the right of any web page (as depicted). Under the "for Students" option, click to expand and locate the system information for your computer: Windows Vista; Windows 7; Apple Leopard (10.5); Apple Snow Leopard (10.6) and; Apple Tiger (10.4) natively support this configuration. Windows XP will support machines with up-to-date wireless card software.

If you recently visited Jeff IT for an update or configuration to your system, the new security technology was already activated in preparation for the retirement of swopenwpa.

If you have any questions, or if you experience issues connecting after the changes are implemented, please call Jeff IT at (215) 503-7600.
