ARTS - Animal Research and Tracking System – Utilized to track the use of expenditures of animals and related expenses for various university research projects.
Authentication - Is the process of verifying that a user, computer, or service (such as an application provided on a network server) is the entity that it claims to be.
Authorization - Is the process of determining which actions an authenticated entity is authorized to perform.
Banner - The universities enterprise student management system.
Banner Web - A self-service web interface which allows students to perform registration activities.
Campus Display - A system that provides event data, displayed through plasma monitors throughout the campus buildings.
Campus Key - It is a confidential login by which access to your Jefferson accounts are granted.
Client Services - This group provides PC and desktop support and purchasing.
Contribute - An application enabling users to update content on the web.
CSC - Customer Support Center.
EMR – Electronic Medical Records.
End-of-Lease Lookup - A method to determine when your current lease expires.
Enterprise Applications - Jeff IT manages campus-wide administrative, clinical, and academic systems for its clients.
Faculty Interest Database - Provides key information about Faculty, including contact information, and areas of expertise and research.
GuestPass - An application provided to allow temporary login used to access JeffLine applications on the ARN network.
High Performance Computing - The Jefferson High-PerformanceComputingCluster (HPCC)has been built and tuned to address specific research problems. It is a shared computing resource whosepurpose is to provide a development environment for exploration of new computational techniques.
HIPAA - Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
HR Self-Service - Allows access to E-Benefits, Payroll and eRecruit.
Hyperion - This system is used by the University and Hospital Finance to administrator their annual budgeting process.
Infrastructure Services - Infrastructure services consist of the administration and management of services (Windows and Linux), email services (JeffMail), directory services (LDAP and Active Directory); systems level operations and programming; and utility, back office and foundation services involving wired and wireless networking, monitoring, security, and incident management.
JeffCal - Electronic calendaring and scheduling application provided by TJUH IS.
Jeffline - Online Journals and Library Research resources.
JeffMail - TJU’s official web-based email client.
JeffShare - A universal storage option offered as a service to the TJU community.
JeffWireless - Wireless network access provided by Jeff IT for web access and email communication.
Kronos - The campus time and attendance system.
LDAP - Lightweight Directory Access Protocol - An applicaiton protocol for querying and modifying directory services running over TCP/IP.
Peoplesoft - Peoplesoft Self-Service Resources.
Project Management - A project is an endeavor of fixed duration which is undertaken to deliver a specific product or service to a client of Jeff IT.
Pulse - The University resource portal.
RAP – Remote Access Protocol - A common method of remotely accessing your campus resources.
RTP – Request to Purchase - The standard form for all university purchases.
Service Request – The mechanism by which all IT related requests are processed.
TJUMST – The university network logon domain.
TouchWorks™ – Allscripts electronic medical records software.
Vista Plus – A web base report and documentation distribution system, providing access to business critical information.
VPN – Virtual Private Network - VPN is a secure service that permits you to create a secure encrypted “tunnel” over the Internet to get to the TJU secure network and your applications and storage.
Web Services –This group provides design and development of Web-based sites, pages and application for the university as a whole and departments within TJU.
