Getting Access
Once our Student Admissions department has registered the decision
to accept a new student, a number of automated processes begin to
provide the new student with basic computing access and resources.
This process takes place before the new student's start date, and
allows him or her to access orientation materials, and receive communications
all prior to day one of classes. It includes:
- A "Campus Key". This creates an entry in Jefferson's security
directory, and provides a user id that can be used for a number
of resources at Jefferson:
- Jefferson Pulse Intranet access. A campus intranet portal
which is customized by role, and which can be further personalized.
Think of it as the "My Jefferson" web site. This is also the
gateway to orientation materials, and online components of courses.
- An email account.
- Access to our Student Information System which allows for
a number of student-related functions via the web.
- Access to Jeffline, containing a wealth of online library
and research resources.
