Creating a WebDAV Folder for Mac Users
In Mac OS, choose "Go" from the Finder menu and "Connect to Server..." from the Go submenu.
In the “Connect to Server” window, type your directory’s address in the “Server Address:” field: https://jeffshare.jefferson.edu/users/<your campus key>. Please note that the path name is case sensitive. Click on the plus sign to add this to your Favorite Servers list.
Click on the plus sign to add this to the “Favorite Servers:” list.
Click on the "Connect" button.
Under “WebDAV File System Authentication”, type in your campus key in the ‘Name’ box and password in the ‘Password’ box. Click on the checkbox next to “Remember this password in my keychain” so that you will not have to reenter your password in the future. Click "OK".
The folder will open and you will now have an icon on your desktop for this folder.
For future sessions, go to “Connect to Server…” under “Go" from the Finder menu, where your folder will appear in the Favorite Servers list.
Click on the folder to which you want to connect and click on the “Connect” button. The folder will open and an icon for the folder will be placed on your desktop.
You now can access the JeffShare folder as if it were a local folder on your machine. Save, open and delete files to and from this directory through any WebDAVenabled application. You can also drag and drop files or cut and paste them directly into your WebDAVenabled folder.
You can also access other directories in the same manner if you have the correct permissions to them and know their exact location. If you do not have write permission to a directory and you attempt to drag or copy a file to it, you may get a confusing error message. Thus, be sure you have the correct access rights to a directory before making it a WebDAV folder.
To create a WebDAV folder to another user's directory, simply follow the above directions replacing your campus key with theirs and adding the path to and name of the subdirectory if necessary.
