JeffShare Drive Installation

Click on the ‘Install File’ link under JeffShare Drive Installation in the Install Files and
Instructions content area of the JeffShare Storage Resource Center.

You will be prompted to download the file. Click on the ‘Save File’ button.

In the Save As dialog box, click on ‘Desktop’ on the left hand places bar and then click
on the ‘Save’ button or hit your ‘Enter’ key to save the file to your desktop.

Close all of your open windows. Double-click on the Xythos drive executable file on
your desktop. *

You will be prompted to select a language. You may keep the default, English, or click
on the drop down arrow and select a language of your choice. Click on the ‘Continue’
button.

A welcome dialog box is displayed. If you don’t want to install at this time, click on the
‘Exit’ button. To continue with the installation, click on the ‘Install’ button.

You will now be prompted to read the license agreement. Click on the ‘I accept the terms
of this License Agreement’ check box and then click on the ‘Next’ button, which will
now be available to you.

The next dialog box displays the destination directory on your hard drive and the program
group in your Windows Start menu. Keep the default values and click the ‘Next’ button.

You will be prompted to verify the previous information. Click on the ‘Next’ button.

Please wait as the next dialog box displays the installation progress. You will
automatically be taken to the next dialog box.

In order to complete the installation, your computer will need to be rebooted. A check
mark is automatically placed in the ‘Restart Windows now’ check box. To complete the
installation, click on the ‘Finish’ button. Your computer will now reboot. If you do not
want your computer to reboot at this time, click in the ‘Restart Windows now’ check box
to remove the check and click on the ‘Finish’ button. You may now continue to work in
Windows as before. The Xythos drive installation won’t be complete until you manually
reboot you computer however.

Upon reboot, the JeffShare Drive installation is now complete.

* If you receive an error message while attempting to run the install file, log out and log
back in as an administrator of your computer. If you do not have multiple users and
cannot get the installation to run, you can still work with JeffShare by setting up a Web
Folder (see Web Folder Setup for Windows Users.) The Web Folder will show up in
Explorer and also act as a connected drive. You may also access your files by logging
onto JeffShare via a web browser and the WebUI.
