Student Applications
Pulse
Jefferson has a campus portal called Pulse, designed to
be the home page for all faculty, staff and students. Since Pulse
is a gateway to virtually every online resource and web site you'll
need at Jefferson, there is no need to remember long URLs or be
dependent on the "Favorites" list stored on your desktop
PC - you only need to know one URL, http://pulse.jefferson.edu.
As a student, you log in to the Pulse portal using your Campus
Key and view information tailored to you on your own 'My Pulse'
home page. Pulse encompasses your course content under the 'Courses'
tab. Access to announcements, email, calendars, Banner (course registration
and grades), JEFFLINE (the Library web) and an index of all major
sites on campus is available from one convenient place. You will
also be able to customize your 'My Pulse' page by adding or deleting
various links and modules including access to your own bookmarks,
news, sports, and weather.
Pulse also allows official student organizations to have direct
control of their own web sites under the Organization tab. Pulse
Organizations may be used for announcements, mailing lists, documents,
calendars, surveys and discussion boards.
Banner
SCT Banner is the Enterprise University Academic Administrative
System. This application is a fully integrated, Oracle-based, Internet-native
technology system and a proven, end-to-end solution for student
information, advancement, financial aid, faculty and advisors, and
more.
The application provides students, employees and faculty members
with 24x7 access to a wide range of important information.
This resource enables real-time access to student services and business
operations accessible via the Intranet and/or Internet. The system
empowers students, staff and faculty to manage processes such as
financial aid, enrolment, admissions, application submission and
payment, as well as degree and transcript maintenance online, through
a standard Web browser.
Access is granted to all students, faculty and appropriate staff
members using their campus key, which is assigned to each student
when they are accepted and in the case of faculty and staff at the
time of hire, along with a self defined private password.
