Kraemer, RDH, PhD, Receives National Dental Hygiene Award ------------------------------------------------------------------ Linda G. Kraemer, RDH, PhD, senior associate dean, College of Allied Health Sciences (CAHS), received the Award for Excellence in Dental Hygiene, co-sponsored by the Warner-Lambert Company and the American Dental Hygienists' Association. The award recognizes outstanding individuals in dental hygiene who have served as mentors, provided leadership and have been acknowledged as role models in the profession. The award recognizes the diversity of professional roles assumed by dental hygienists, including: administrator/manager, change agent, clinician, consumer advocate, educator/health promoter, and researcher. Dr. Kraemer, whose 23 years of experience in dental hygiene includes chairmanship of the CAHS department of dental hygiene from 1976 to 1989, has remained active in her field. In recent years, she has been named to the Pew Health Professions Commission's Allied Health Advisory Panel and to the Institute of Medicine's study committee on the future of dental education.
