Herbert Jr., MS, RT(R), director of the University Office of Minority Affairs and chairman, CAHS department of diagnostic imaging, and their wives are co-chairpersons for the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. A 24-hour, team-oriented fundraising event, the Relay for Life will take place June 24 and 25 at St. Joseph's University. o At a recent scientific program, the Society of Computed Body Tomography/Magnetic Resonance recognized first author Eric K. Outwater, MD, assistant professor of radiology, for the outstanding scientific paper in the magnetic resonance group. The paper, "Endorectal Coil Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Prostatic Carcinoma: Assessment of Diagnostic Criteria for Capsular Penetration," was presented by co-author, Evan S. Siegelman, MD, a former MRI fellow. The research assessed the criteria that radiologists use to determine the stage or extent to which prostate cancer has spread. Other authors are: Chris Chernesky, MD, MRI fellow; Robert Petersen, MD, PhD, professor of pathology and cell biology, and Leonard G.
