Susan Rattner, MD, Appointed Director of Special Curricular Programs for JMC
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Susan Rattner, MD, MS, has been appointed director of special curricular 
programs for Jefferson Medical College, reporting to Jonathan E. Gottlieb, 
MD, associate dean for academic affairs, JMC. In addition, Dr. Rattner is a 
faculty member of the division of internal medicine in the department of 
medicine.

In her new position, Dr. Rattner is responsible for aspects of 
curricular development, particularly to expand and enhance students' 
education in areas of primary care. 

Dr. Rattner's responsibilities will also include implementing the 
Medical Scholars Program.

A graduate of Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Rattner 
comes to Jefferson from Hahnemann University where she had held several 
positions related to student education since 1983, in addition to 
maintaining a generalist practice in internal medicine and setting up 
Hahnemann's first ambulatory care rotation.

At Hahnemann she was director of student and employee health services, 
handled several responsibilities in the office of student affairs, and 
served as assistant dean for generalist education.

In 1993, she earned a Master's degree in epidemiology from the 
University of Pennsylvania.
