============================ JeffNEWS, September 13, 1994 ============================ Jeffersonians: Jazz It Up Sunday, October 30! --------------------------------------------- All Jeffersonians, including our students and members of our affiliated institutions, are invited to enjoy a jazz brunch from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel, One Dock Street, Philadelphia. The event, sponsored by the Barton Department of the hospital Women's Board, will feature the Jazz Traditions group, headed by James M. Hunter, MD, Distinguished Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery; a vocalist, and members of a Mummers string band. "We hope all the members of the Jefferson family will join us for a really special Sunday get-together," said co-chairmen Elaine M. Eberth Faber and Fran Northrup. On this occasion, Edward C. Bradley, SJ, MD, special counselor in residence at Jefferson Medical College and clinical associate professor of medicine, will be honored for his many years of service to Jefferson. To add to the celebration, there will be drawings for great getaways. The grand prize is four days and three nights for two at the Sheraton Palace Hotel in San Francisco, including air fair and a dining gift certificate. Additional prizes are five days and four nights at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel; five days and four nights at the Sheraton At Fisherman's Wharf, San Francisco; a few days at the Sheraton Washington Hotel, Washington, DC, which include a complimentary day of golf; a two-night weekend at the Sheraton New York Hotel & Towers; and a $150 gift certificate to Julie's Bottega in Bala Cynwyd. Hotel prizes are subject to availability, exclusive of major holidays. There will be many more prizes at the event. Even if you can't come to the brunch, you can purchase tickets for the prizes right here at Jefferson on Fridays, October 7 and 21, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the hospital's 11th-Street Atrium. Tickets are $10 each; six for $50 and 15 for $100. Tickets to the brunch itself are $25 each for students from all three Jefferson colleges and juniors 13 years old and under; $50 each for sponsors; $75 each for patrons and $100 each for benefactors. Complimentary parking is available at the Sheraton Society Hill Hotel. Proceeds benefit hospital patient care programs.
